The high tech medical equipment of the new Recovery and Rehabilitation Centre “Amfiareion Hygeias SA” will be the basic principle of the importance of supply of our Centre in the specialized treatment of all types of incidents.
Isokinetic Dynamometer System 4 Pro
Biodex develops technology for advancing patient progress addressing the weak or balance deficient. Rehabilitation technology to address neuromuscular evaluation, therapeutic exercise, gait training and range of motion difficulties in patients suffering from Strokes, Parkinson's Disease, Spinal Cord and Traumatic Brain Injury, Orthopedic and Vestibular.
Almost twenty five years have passed since Biodex introduced the world's first multi-mode computerized robotic dynamometer.
Balance System Balance SD
The Biodex Balance System SD has been designed to meet the needs of everyone looking to improve balance, increase agility, develop muscle tone and treat a wide variety of pathologies. It is also an excellent tool in the growing field of Fall Prevention. Each Biodex Balance System is shipped with a comprehensive Fall Risk Screening and Conditioning Program to help the clinician begin a Fall Prevention Program.
Featuring five test protocols, six training modes and intuitive "touch-screen" operation, the Balance System SD allows testing and training in both static and dynamic formats. Extremely versatile, it is the only system that provides fast, accurate Fall Risk Screening and Conditioning for older adults plus closed-chain, weight-bearing assessment and training for lower extremity patients.
Using this unique device, clinicians can assess neuromuscular control by quantifying the ability to maintain dynamic bilateral and unilateral postural stability on a static or unstable surface.
IceLab -100, 1600 & -1100 C
In the Icelab you will find a special climate – one found neither on earth nor in Space. You can remain at -110°C from one to three minutes. This is possible because at this temperature the air no longer contains moisture and there are no air currents. You do not perceive the cold to be as extreme as it is. There is more: at -110°C the air volume shrinks by 45% compared with room temperature. This means that you inhale almost twice the amount of oxygen per breath. The two antechambers through which you pass without stopping stabilize the temperature and prevent the formation of heavy fog in the main chamber.
Spending time in the icelab is a unique experience, surprising you with the spontaneous surge of well-being that is created. The positive effects of the icelab climate on health and performance have been the subject of numerous scientific studies and have been fully documented over the past 20 years. The technology for the procedure was developed in Germany during this period and is perfected in the new hi-tech product Icelab.
Robotic System Lokomat Pro
Hocoma's Lokomat is a driven gait orthosis that automates locomotion therapy on a treadmill and improves the efficiency of treadmill training. The Lokomat improves the therapy outcome by providing highly intensive, individualized training in a motivational environment of constant feedback. Hocoma’s primary goal is the improvement of the therapy of neurological patients. Together with leading clinics and scientists, we develop rehabilitation devices to increase therapy success and to support physicians and therapists in their daily work. The patient with his therapy requirements stands thereby in the centre.
Lokomat therapy is based on the latest findings in motoric learning for neurological patients. It is known that a new movement or a qualitative improvement to an existing movement can be achieved only through a very high number of repetitions of that movement. These movements, for their part, should represent the actual movement to be learned as accurately as possible. With the support of the Lokomat system, patients can re-learn walking movements through the use of both of these therapeutic methods (repetition and task-oriented training). This task-oriented form of therapy has established itself in the rehabilitation of a wide range of neuromuscular diseases.
Upper Extremity System Armeo Spring
In neurorehabilitation, arm therapies are used mainly for patients with paralysis of the upper extremities, which result from lesions in the central nervous system (e.g. after a stroke). The primary goal of modern therapeutic concepts is to maintain and restore the motor skills of the affected arm. Similar to gait rehabilitation, the biological basis of the restoration of motor skills is neural plasticity; i.e. the brain’s ability to adapt itself to changed conditions by reorganizing itself (e.g. by building new synapses and facilitating suppressed neural networks). The latest clinical findings show that therapeutic methods that are based on active, high-intensity, task-specific movement training are superior to traditional methods. The Armeo Therapy concept supports functional, task-specific, self-directed and intensive movement therapy in a motivating and inspiring environment. By providing support for the affected arm and hand, all products within the Armeo Therapy Concept allow patients to reacquire and improve their motor control.
Robotic System Erigo
The latest findings in neuroscience indicate that neurological patients should be mobilized as soon as possible after stroke, traumatic brain injury, and paraplegia. Mobilization refers to stabilizing the patient's blood circulation through physiotherapy (exercises of the upper and lower extremities that practice the whole range of movement) and tilt-table training so that he or she can already sit in a wheelchair or even stand unassisted.
The Erigo combines three standard therapies – verticalization, movement, and weight-bearing – in one piece of therapeutic equipment. Firstly, the patient is verticalized. At the same time, his or her legs are moved throughout their whole range of movement, and weight is dynamically applied and lifted. This allows the patient to carry out an intensive training session during the initial stages of the rehabilitation program.
Rehabilitation Pool with 3 levels 0, 90/1, 20/1, 80 of depth Astral Pool
It is a well-known fact in the medical world that guided movement in the swimming pool and water therapy in general are excellent aids for recovery and rehabilitation.
Obviously, systems need to be expertly designed, planned and created and must conform to legal requirements of Rehab. They need to be innovative, yet reliable and to offer ad hoc solutions to totally satisfy a clientele with special needs. Our long experience and great specialization in the sector have made Astral Pool a company to follow in creating systems for rehabilitation centers.
